Implementation

The next steps were to develop the actual staffing model and introduce the new caseload expectations to the nursing staff. A critical step in implementing the Hospice staffing change was to apply Kurt Lewin’s Three-Step Model, understanding that the RNs would need to participate in designing the new models as a group, and that certain restraining forces, such as the RNs’ attitudes toward quality, flexibility, and personal capacity, would need to be addressed.
